The GOP's Re-Redistricting Scheme
As you have probably heard, the Texas state legislature is having another go at gerrymandering...er..redistricting. In response, Democratic Legislators have gone in to hiding so the Legislature wouldn't reach quorum and the redistricting effort would be stalled. This is really ridiculous, not that the Democrats have gone into hiding, but for some reason the Republicans have found the need to redistrict so quickly after the last census and the last redistricting. Any and all redistricting done between censuses should be viewed with extreme suspicion and the ever-subtle Tom Delay has confirmed these suspicions when he explained the reason why he was so involved was because, "I'm the majority leader and I want more Republican seats."
