Equal Rights for All, Special privileges for....some.

From Tapped

You may have read recently about the case of Jon Dolan, a member of the Missouri National Guard who also happens to be a Republican state senator. To recap: Last September, Dolan left Guantanamo Bay, where he was deployed on active duty, to cast the deciding vote to allow citizens to carry concealed guns in Missouri -- violating Pentagon rules that specifically prohibit National Guard members on active duty from participating as officeholders.
After a three-and-a-half month investigation, the U.S. Southern Command recommended that Mr. Dolan "be relieved of his command and demobilized immediately" for violating the rules. The Pentagon ignored this recommendation and gave him only a letter of admonition. Why? Dolan isn't the only one making sacrifices over in Iraq; why should a well-connected reservist get special treatment over everyone else for purely political purposes?
