Quick! Cancel the Election, or the Terrorists Will Strike!

Taking a break from shuffling the blame for 9.11 to-and-fro, Condeleeza Rice went on Fox News Sunday to say that we have to keep looking over our shoulders during the election season because "In some ways, it seems like it would be too good to pass up for them, and so we are actively looking at that possibility, actively trying to make certain that we are responding appropriately." No fear mongering here...

On its own, its a clear case of fear mongering and a cheap way to say "Vote for Bush." But if you were like most Fox viewers, you needed to be told this in a much more clear way. She said the train attacks and subsequent changing of Spanish government "Could send the wrong message." There you have it. A vote for Kerry is a vote for Al-Qaida. What is her basis for this fear mongering? "Chatter." "Chatter" is the catch-all word that the Bush administration uses when it needs to ramp up the collective fear amongst Americans. Don't ask me for specifics because I can't remeber any. But I swear to you, you MUST believe me, for the sake of our children, that this is at least the fifth time they have used chatter to scare people with unsubstantiated fears.

So, call off the election! Hide the Constitution! The terrorists are coming, the terrorists are coming!
